Three Weeks Until Spring.

Change of Season
Right now the chilliness of Winter permeates the air
So I sit here warm and snug in my chair
While outside
The blossoms on the almond trees
Have burst their bubs which now attract the bees
A sure sign from nature that spring is not too far away
So I take heart that September first, will be the day
When officially Spring revives anew
Not only the Winter landscape
But also
My depleted Joie de vivre will certainly
Bounce back again too!

  3. Gosh Milli, your headline had me wondering what planet I'm on when
I woke up this morning, until I remembered that your from "down under" .... LOL
So what this means is that WE are what .... three weeks until Fall ?
    Summer is nearly over?
    OMG !
It's been so hot here in southern BC Canada (40 +) and just the thought of
fall/winter seem so far fetched. Our little area here has been on the news ....
"Hottest Place in the Country", which of course has brought on the danger of forest fires.
There is a 5 thousand dollar fine if you light a camp-fire right now.
The air is smoky from fires up north.

Yet soon (in Oct) our trees will turn colors and will make for beautiful photography
and mark my favorite time of year.

    But geesh ..... let's not wish our life away ! . . . . LOL

    HAVE A GREAT DAY !

  5. I love the differnt change of seasons.
I will miss summer that is for sure.
So nice to sit by a fire place and watch
as winter brings the cold chill. I have
never seen an almond tree. They must
    grow in very warm weather.

  7. A cool 92 degrees today in the valley, but I'll play along and pretend that spring is coming soon. Our spring is almost non-existent - a brief window between the rainy season and summer heat, so I'd like a bounceback!

  8. As difficult as it is for you to get your head around the cool of winter down here Dana, it is just as difficult for me to get my head around all that heat up there.

My favourite time of the year too Ben.
Too true never wish your life away there is not enough time for that...how true.
We get fires here and it can be so devastating. Hope all stays well for you in that extreme heat.
    Thanks for the visit.

  13. Alas the season's changes come once a month these days, and one year moulds into the last or next far too quickly. Time flashes by, or lingers, with we ancients.

  14. Hi Sue I agree I also love the change of seasons and we do seem to have the four distinct seasons here.
They say we have a Mediterranean climate here which is a bit more mild than many other places and yes it is very good for the almond trees which actually burst out in blossom before the other fruit trees do. Very beautiful to see actually and I will post some more for you soon.
