We found this delightful flower growing wild in the hills of Dunagiri (Kumaon, India). Internet tells me its also known as the 'falling star'... wish we could catch it and put it in our pocket so it never fades away :)
Namaste and Welcome to the GG Group Piyush. Now what a charming little flower and a lovely start for your friendly exchanges over the garden fence that now spans the continents.
It seems I have my Orange weed identified too now.I like it though. An old garden favourite (in origin an artificial hybrid from two South African parents) which has escaped and become totally naturalized in a wide variety of places, especially sea cliffs, roadsides etc. One of its parent species, C. pottsii, which is very similar in appearance, is also occasionally found on roadsides. All names: Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora (C. aurea x pottsii) (Lemoine ex Burb. & Dean) Nicholson; Crocosmia x crocosmiiflora (Lemoine ex Burb. & Dean) Nicholson; Crocosmia aurea x pottsii; Tritonia x crocosmiiflora (Lemoine ex Burb. & Dean) Nicholson; Tritonia x crocosmiflora (Lemoine) Nicholson; Crocosmia x crocosmiflora (Lemoine) N.E.Br.
